Maybe you were taken slightly out of your realm? PortisheadMassive AttackBoards of CanadaGive those band a listen if you get a chance, you might enjoy it.

So in general, on the tune, here are my thoughts:Pretty cool atmospheric vibe, nice ambience, i like the idea.Intro is waaaaaay too long. I honestly lost interest and almost turned it off and then it finally developed a little. It sounds kind of scattered, and hard to listen to as a 'song'. Its cool for like a backdrop, i could hear it in a film. It has dramatic vibes with a distant relaxing ambience to it as well. Instrumentation just seems all over the place, and the synth distorted snare part could be cleaned up, though this may be your intent... Jmo. Mix sounds honky and scattered, vocals are boomy and lack clarity. Guitar sounds way to synthetic and twangy, i think it would sound better if you stripped the parts down and spread everything out a little to let the mix uncrowd itself a bit. I think you have a uniquely appealing idea here that could be developed.. I think it has a good deal of work left, and also needs a much stronger mix... Especially since electronic music is inherently an artform of digital signal manipulation. (Respectively)Hth,Good luckThank you for your time your feedback helps a lot. My objective was a Trip Hop track. Its still very raw in the mixing process i have not even touched the vocals with an EQ. I just wanted to post it here and see how people reacted. The reason the snare sounds so "synthy:" is because it is a sample from Street Fighter for super nintendo when you punch someone. Did you ever play it? haha its just a personal connection, i am very into abstract obscure sampling. The guitar is run through a lot of effects but it tastes good to me. I was also a bit skeptical about the length of the intro but it creates the environment i was going for so i kept it in there. I like the contrast of ambience and then the beat kicks again. Thanks again for your time it is very helpful.

Glad you made me aware of the genre though as I've got some old demos with some mean 60 Hz hum-- made back in the day when synthesizers wouldn't stay in tune and tape hiss was all the rage-- that I've been dying to find a home for. Just kidding. Sounds like you might be on target for what you're after, but I'm really not qualified to comment on it. It's cool to see some alternative sounds on here though.Cam
