TAXI Collab of Awesomeness: Pull Down The Sun

Post by sguiles » Wed Dec 19, 2012 6:58 pm

Alright good sirs and ladies. Here's an almost finished mix that I'm doing with the most excellent Pedro Costa. We're doing it for film and tv and are looking for any constructive feedback in that realm.
The listing is beneath the lyrics.

Here's the most up-to-date mix:

https://soundcloud.com/johncashstudio/p ... un-mix-and

If you heard the previous mix, that was mine. It was pretty much crap. Pedro has fingers of gold and ears made out of diamonds...or some equally precious metal that can hear stuff really good.

And the lyrics:

This is alright, this is alright I got it
Under wraps now and
This is all night, get us outta sight
Uptight
One of my questions

Stage right, fall down, bright light, uptown asking questions
if I fall down, fall down, fall down do you join me on the ground?

Woo ooo I got to run to you
Woo ooo pull down the sun for you ... run to you

Run a red light, run a stop sign
Then floor it
Gotta get away
Catch a late flight
Watch ya rush right out of this town

Fall down, fall down, fall down, fall down, fall down, fall down oh oh oh
Fall down, fall down, fall down, fall down
will you join me?

Woo ooo I got to run to you
Woo ooo pull down the sun for you
Woo ooo I got to run to you
Woo ooo pull down the sun for you

This is more than I could ever do
This is more than I could ever do

In my hands I hold a thousand burning lights
Under stars of night
I'll give you every single one
The stars are gonna shine

Woo ooo I got to run to you
Woo ooo pull down the sun for you
Woo ooo I got to run to you
Woo ooo pull down the sun for you
The sun for you

Below is a special opportunity that we wanted to give you a heads up about. We need your music by Friday, December 21, 2012, 12:30PM PST. You can find this listing under the Blues genre in the Submit Music section of your TAXImusic.com hosting site.

MUSIC SUPERVISOR needs INDIE ROCK and INDIE POP SONGS for CABLE TV SERIES. They're looking for BRIGHT, UPBEAT MID-to-UPTEMPO SONGS with MALE or FEMALE VOCALS a la:

"What You Know" by Two Door Cinema Club http://bit.ly/UCYQE2

"At Home" by Crystal Fighters http://bit.ly/UCcY2M

They're looking for FRESH, HIP songs with a strong INDIE vibe. Your song must add both momentum and emotion to the scene. Performances must be top notch! Songs with group vocals are also welcome. Instrumentals are not needed at this time. Lyrics must be UNIVERSAL (avoid specific names, places, dates/times, brands, etc.) The estimated license fee is $1,000-$1,500. Thanks all :) having a blast with Steve on this one.
Wondering your thoughts on the mix/master overall.
Anything seem out of balance?

Very nice guys! Really fun to listen to, melody is catchy, and i think it hits the mark for the listing!

I don't understand the Lyrics really, but that probably won't even matter for the listing or for the intent of the project anyway.

Nice work.

Yeah, I wrote these lyrics and I'll be honest and say I'm not 100% sure what they mean either. :)
I sang and my wife also added some harmonies.
