Hi,
I have a question about exclusivity of opportunities that Taxi presents to its members. If Taxi is presenting an opportunity for us to submit our music -- is the opportunity exclusive to Taxi only, or are the music supervisors/libraries etc. soliciting from other external parties not affiliated with Taxi? So if we receive a forward, is the recipient only considering Taxi members or are they drawing from a larger pool of recommendations from others within the industry as well? Or is this on a case by case basis?
Thanks.
Steve

Re: Taxi Exclusivity Question
I'm pretty sure case by case...
There are so many libraries that use Taxi that I can only imagine that some of those libraries use the full spectrum of what is available to them out there on the "internets"...
That's why I believe so strongly in our Forum and Peer to Peer...
If The Taxi Membership consistently pours out the best material, we can only strengthen content and give libraries no reason to search elsewhere.
Mainly by saving them time!!! The all important equation in this world of music for Film/TV...
As a Construction Coordinator in Film, I have many lumber companies to choose from...
But through 30 years of ordering lumber, I stick with the two yards that have proven to deliver timely and the most consistant lumber,
thus saving me time to spend on the more important issues on my desk...

Re: Taxi Exclusivity Question
Robert,
Thanks...that does make a lot of sense. I was thinking that the libraries would be less exclusive, as they are looking for an abundance of content to have at their disposal as their needs arise. The specific "direct to Music Supervisor" - I would assume may be more exclusive as it's a specific opportunity, a limited window of time, and the need for quality (over quantity w/quality)? Not sure. I appreciate the response.

Re: Taxi Exclusivity Question
Actually I would think that "Direct to Supervisor" would be LESS exclusive due to the nature of Supervisors reaching out to every source they have in order to get that perfect fit.
Beware, though, some sites will copy TAXI's listings and post them to get people to pay them a fee... without ever sending the music onward.

Re: Taxi Exclusivity Question
I had no idea that other sites could be pilfering Taxi advertisements. Although I haven't seen any myself...yet. Thanks for that insight though.Russell Landwehr wrote:Actually I would think that "Direct to Supervisor" would be LESS exclusive due to the nature of Supervisors reaching out to every source they have in order to get that perfect fit.
