TAXI hosting: why 128kps?

Three:My concern was real because this is not clear on the beta hosting page, and my usual operation is to upload, then listen to make sure nothing's gone wrong. In the case of one song, the re-conversion from 192 to the streaming 128 did, indeed, totally muck up the beginning of one song, which is quiet, instrumental, strange patches, and which became so garbled in the conversion from 192 to 128 that I spent a flustered couple of hours desperately remastering then reuploading. Four: for various reasons beyond my control, I have lost broadband for three weeks in the past eight. Why not upload at 256k or even 320k if those are options?It's a bummer about the 128k streaming (especially if it's a reconverted stream, which it will be unless we upload at 128k, which we shouldn't), but if we know for sure that Taxi and the listing parties are listening at the higher bitrate, it's not so bad...after all, this service IS for submitting music to Taxi listings, not for sharing music with other Taxi members and friends. I can live with that. I'll continue using Soundclick at 128k (where I perform one compression to get the 128k) and music.download.com and/or Broadjam for 192k sharing/demonstrations etc. Taxi hosting becomes the submissions pool, not the public baths. No problemo. (Am I in the wading pool or in at the deep end? Can I even swim?? only time will tell!!!)
