Yes! Excellent suggestion Bob. :D

BTW, I hope that person is no longer a Taxi.com member. I'm really getting tired of these selfish individuals spoiling it for the rest of us...we pay good money to be part of Taxi.com :x

Congrats Wayne!!! Awesome to hear about a Taxi member landing one of these.

Definite BOO to the other clown!! It's ridiculous and humorous that some idiot thinks if they put their take of a national commercial on YouTube that somehow a big shot Ad person in NY is going to magically come across it and fall in love with it. Well......obviously that's how all major commercials are landed right ;) The internet has created dillusion!
I like the idea of having to sign a waiver. There's got to be a way to weed out the spoilers.

Big congrats to Wayne!! That's awesome and I hope there are many more opportunities for these kinds of deals.

I think that there will always be wing nuts out there with giant chips on their little wimpy shoulders, in fact, doing business via the internet virtually guarantees it!! Couple that with the false hype of becoming successful just by buying a laptop and a hard drive full of software and a cheap mic, and a potent recipe for narcissism and skewed versions of reality is created.

IMO, the only way to "force" professionalism is to make the bar for entry to these types of listings much higher. Like signing a big scary NDA prior to being allowed to submit. In plain language the NDA would say: "If we even get a whiff that you put our materials on the internet in any form without our consent, we'll have a team of lawyers so far up your "you know what", your digestive system will never be the same again".

Of course, that would be a major buzz kill to a lot of folks, but would limit the playing field to those who are serious professionals, or at the very least, amateurs that are mature enough to act in a businesslike, professional manner.

It's great to hear success stories!!! Here's to many more!

Just to be clear: I think it's totally possible to create broadcast quality music with a laptop, a bunch of software and a low-ish end mic. I believe though, that the gear is nowhere near enough on it's own, it takes a developed musical mind and practiced technical chops as well. I think the "it's easy to create music, just add gear" part is what's over hyped.

I'm not trying to offend anyone except possibly (hopefully) the jerk that blew the chances for the rest of us.

imagine if John Williams and Trent Reznor met at Bernard Hermann's for lunch and Brian Eno was the head chef!
