TAXI music hosting..NEVER WORKS!!!

Post by dankityd » Mon May 19, 2008 1:50 am

Is it me or does taxi's music hosting page totally suck? They never load...I will never get rid of my broadjam membership as long as taxi's pages continue to be so difficult to use. Too bad I have pay for overlapping services.

I have problems on & off. Sometimes songs won't play unless I go to lo-fi, then sometimes not at all. I called Taxi back when I first put my songs up because I thought maybe they wouldn't be able to play them either but that was not the case. Never could figure out why I have a problem sometimes. I was told it was a problem with my 'puter but I don't have problems anywhere else so I just deal with it. To me it's not a biggie because I only use Taxi hosting for submissions. But it is kind of a bummer when I can't listen to a track that someone has posted for review.

It then opens ok.

Always works fine for me. Now the page design is another topic, but the upload and music features have always worked fine.

I can't say I've ever had a problem. I stream through iTunes in XP. I did notice about 2 weeks ago the site starting asking me to authorise the download (hadn't done that before) but it's still click and play for me. Well, two clicks now.I haven't helped much, have I

I have had streaming issues...where the song keeps needingto be buffered...but actually starting today its gotten a bit better better(yay)but still..many taxi users cannot stream my tunes on taxi hosting..i think its the combo of a few things..bandwidth...codecs or lack thereof...and...gremlins!

Hmm this is interesting because streaming tune links, mine or others, just refuse to load. They stall out the browser. Every single other website is fine so I have a hard time believing it's my system. For example, a couple days ago I was reading a thread about orchestral listings and some people had included links. I clicked 8 or 9 different song links and the taxi page wouldn't even come up....ok I just went to my own page and...same problem! Doesn't even show me a page. Just gives me the '!' warning that the server timed out. I never see this page in Firefox. Never. Only for taxi streaming.Trying the 'low quality' streaming...Timed Out!Now I'm gonna try that 'paste the link in' suggestion...Timed Out!Just like BillG said, I don't use this page for much but submitting. But like he said, it bugs me that I can't ever listen to other people's tracks when they post them. Can some firefox savvy person tell me about some setting that I'm not aware of?
