Re: Taxi 'Push!' submission...? Ye/Ne?
Thanks for all the valuable input!B. Flat.. I appreciate your time and critiques man.Quote: Guitars:Seem a little "small" sounding (esp snare) and the tones, if upgraded, could really raise the roof on this one.The backup vocal on the chorus (the echo line) has some sibilance going onI would also ride the chorus out a little before that endind...seemed a little abrupt. Also the chorus...I would throw some strumming acoustics to give the chorus some continuity...the elect guitars. I still thing the instrumentation around the chorus should lift it up more. Again, this is just one man's opinion....nobody likes to hear bad things about their song babies! This I know! The first comment here, you are referring to the drums i suppose? The snare might a little more oomph in the chorus i can see now. The rim and kick sound about right to me in the other sections though.. Does the verses drum parts sound small to you as well? The backup vocal might have too strong a high pass filter, good point. Though, at this point anyway, I dont think it is especially sensitive to my ears. I will note that point for when i finalize."The strumming acoustics", could you elaborate a little on this, i think i get what you're saying but am not completely sure. You're right, it is always somewhat hard to recieve criticism on your babies, i have to give it a day sometimes to let it soak before i can objectively respond. That said, this is truly a valuable community which holds a lot of knowledge and experience. There's very few other folks in my circle at home here that can really help me improve my songs with this level of sugg's. So i try my best to remember that before i respond to a comment i dont agree with an "what does this guy know anyway" attitude! Patrick... Yea man, the chorus needs a little something extra, seems to be the consensus. I might try my hand at really trying to belt up an octave, {i wish i hadnt tracked in D! } On a side note with the chorus: I was considering having a great sax player i know add on to it, which could be interesting and add some more impact.. We'll see. Thanks for the listen and ideas, Dean and Mcanty!Hey dean, your phrase sugg' might indeed flow better, ill address it for finalizing, ya dang lyrical guru! I wonder how i am ever going to get the vocals done for 'Good Days' now!? Cheers folks,Jamie

Ha ha Jamie.. yeah it's like "go up, go up in the chorus" and our larnyxes (sp?) are saying "go down, go down" lol... yeah I agree, I never fully can appreciate the feedback on first read... but I've found on the songs I've posted I ending up agreeing with the much of what was said in the end.
