Quote:Quote:It'll turn out to be a great investment. Cranking out tracks at $0 per track (other than the electricity to run the computer) can't be beat in the long run. Studio time has to add up quickly.Plus it'll be REALLY handy for doing all those future collaborations with forum members. Gosh, I hope so!! I got faith in you, girl. You'll get 'er done.

Personally, I would not go to an expensive unponsored event seperate from the official rally "just to meet" taxi members. The whole point of the Rally is to get access to successful pros, not fellow anateurs. For this, I just have to go to the local bar...tons of "songwriters" there On the other hand, I would definitly pay for a more expensive "Taxi Platinum" event , similar to the Jeffrey Steele bootcamp minus the country-only focus. LA is perfect. Plane tickets are cheap and it's easier for international atendees. Also, I figure that the proximity to TAXI's headquarters can help reduce the cost. I've been going to tech conferences for years and let me tell you that to do any type of conference/rally for less than 100K in potential liabilities is a miracle in efficiency My 2 cents,PS: I clarified my point in bold since people were not reading the whole thread and assuming I was talking about the rally itself.Vermeer

Who you calling an anateur, bub? The Rally is not an anateur-filled event. If I could afford it, I'd be there every year. By the same token, if Taxi would ever announce a "platinum event", who do you think would attend? Professionals who already have the connections or those who are seriously on their way?The Road Rally has everything except the anateurs... They get together at the Missplelling Dickshunary Rallie... Hehheh...

vermeer, Please don't embarrass yourself any further, by talking trash, about Micheal's rally. I went to the last Taxi Road Rally. What you've described as "An Expensive Event, is actually free... What gives? Climb down from your big ole horse and relax a bit. Many of us have been to this fantastic rally that you're downplaying. I would bet, not one of us, regrets the amount of money we spent getting there. You haven't been there. You can't know yet. Meeting Taxi members, in person, is a wonderful perk to this entire process. Especially because it's like belonging to a cool kinda club. And we all care about each other, a bit... We don't always get along. You wanna be in our club, vermeer?Hook likes Molson.

Hey, have you read my post? I'm talking about not going to anything else but a Michael-sponsored event. You have to read the rest of the thread where people are discussing putting together an event similar to the Rally, but with no sponsors and no pro songwriters. Basically just a get togtether. Wonder who's embarassed now... Vermeer

Bonjour copain, Let me assure you, I have no fear of being embarrassed by what I write on this forum. These people are some of my friends, who'd like to organize an event. And yes, I've read the entire thread, more than once. You are writing on a public message forum, that the idea these friends are batting around, isn't worth your time or focus. You sound kind of flippant about it. I can find a French word if you need. I've read many things you've written, and enjoyed them. You're quite a great source of information. But don't shoot down somebody else's idea, because you think you know more about organizing a conference then they do. But when it comes to talking trash about people's ideas, or PCs (I'm a Mac guy), you could still use some more nice-guy crepes for breakfast. Get togethers where Taxi members meet, are a darn fine idea.

I like it when a debate erupts on a thread 'coz that thread will be on fire, and it also keeps the Nashville Rally idea alive.....keep at it, folks! This thread was dead in the water, so it's a blessing.

@Gilbert,Dude, Calm down... For some reason, you misread what I wrote and instead of saying "My mistake", you try to frame me as some kind of hate-mongering-PC-bashing-know-it-all-putting-down-your-hard-working-friends? Mhmmm. I don't quite know what to say about that...You sure got me... If you were in Montreal, I'd invite you to my place to see that I'm not that evil, but you're in BC...oh well Vermeer

Well, there's not gonna be a clear winner in this one... Let's go to the score cards... It's a draw!Has anybody ever thought of suggesting to Michael that he permanently move Taxi and everything else to Nashville? I think it's a better idea than just a mini rally...All in favor... Say "y'all"...
