So, If I buy the Kontact 10 series cause at this point I can't afford the ultimate series. I can purchase the orchestrtal strings and brass at the cross grade price?

No. You can then purchase K10 Ultimate at the crossgrade/upgrade price when you're ready. Ult. should include those two.

Yeh, you can purchase them as stand alone products. But AFAIK they don't offer a cross-grade price to them. But basically, the point of Komplete and Komplete Ultimate is the value for money. What I've spent on stand alone products, I could already be enjoying Ultimate.

the only standalone product that usually has a cross grade is the Kontakt sampling engine.

So the K10 AND K10 ULTIMATE ARE SAMPLING ENGINES

Not exactly. Komplete is a package of products.

K10 includes a set of core NI instruments and effects:

Synths
- Absynth
- Reaktor
- FM8
- Massive
- plus some other Reaktor based synths

Battery - drum sampler

Kontakt - industry standard sampler + a bunch of Kontakt based instruments

Effects - various compressors, reverbs, eq, creative effects etc.

K10 Ultimate includes ALL NI products (excluding Maschine and Traktor stuff) at the time of release of that version of Komplete. As new products are added to NI, those new products are not included in Ultimate until the next Komplete cycle starts. Komplete is very good value for money. Komplete Ultimate is unbelievable value for money. But in both cases, it's usually worth being patient because once or twice a year they will have a 50% off sale. Often not too long before the next version of Komplete is released.

You can explore the NI page and find out about all of this in detail.
