Re: Thanks Michael!
This was my first Road Rally. One word: FANTASTIC !! Okay I'll add another INSPIRATIONAL! Alright one more, MOTIVATIONAL! All three aptly describe my experience. I've been doing music for many years. One can become jaded and disillusioned. The Rally helped reinforce beliefs in myself, motivated me to continue the success I had in 2007 and do better in 2008. The one thing that really stuck out to me was, how approachable everyone was (excluding a lot of the panelist of course, but I understand their position). I'm talking about Michael Laskow, Matt Hirt, Jason Blume...etc. I spoke with each one and never felt rushed or like I was a bothering them. When I approached Matt with a question regarding his music he reached in his bag and gave me a cd of his stuff. The very same stuff that he's placed in TV and film. No attitude, no "hoarding" his "secrets" to success, just "here, take this". Thank you Matt! I met many fellow songwriters and musicians from all over the country. The sense of community was great, the feeling of purpose, contagious and the idea of "hey, I can really do this", inspiring. I'll be back next. I will have applied what I learned. My goal is to have a "real" success story to tell Michael, Matt and Jason
