Great work! It's amazing that you 2 can work that fast. It sounds really great. Lots of strange guitar bits that sound very cool and interesting. Here are a couple of notes (if you want 'em, before the screener gets to it) - tambourine's kinda weird to me, maybe unneccesary- bass is hot(but sounds great)- let the last note/chord of the song ring out a little longer- there's a bit of guitar with flanging on it around 2/3's of the way thru, after the 1st part of the second chorus. The low end of the flange jumps out of the mix a bit too hot, could be my rig. I'd pin-point a time for you, but it's right before the refrain of Krazy Kamikase starts. - could the chorus use some kind of extra high-pitched whining thingy, to make it stand out a little more. Something that sound like a crazy kamikase? Like that Led Zepplin thing from that song years ago.I didn't listen to " Cake", so my suggestions could make your cake a little too salty. And not in the right vein for the listing. As I have posted many times, understanding listing requirements is never a strong point for me. steve says 2 thumbs up, but I can't solve a Rubik's cube.

Re: The 22 hour Dispatch Challenge
Thanks Steve-- I have a few other tasks to complete now, so I may not be able to revisit this before it's actually screened-- but your comments are appreciated.Quote:- tambourine's kinda weird to me, maybe unneccesaryWe kind of went back and forth on that-- the tambo-snaps-claps thing have become a bit of a signature for us, and on this one it seemed to give a little more "groove" to the feel-- but I had already intended to do a no tambo mix just in case fresh ears tell a different storyQuote:- bass is hot(but sounds great)Once again a semi-conscious decision to keep it hot, but sleep deprivation could have had an influence Quote:- let the last note/chord of the song ring out a little longerAhhh. I had actually shortened the ring looking for a pop that I couldn't find in the trail out -- turned out to be a snippet of a vocal region that was too small to see in the view I was in -- forgot to ring it back out.Quote:- there's a bit of guitar with flanging on it around 2/3's of the way thru( after the 1st part of the second chorus, where the low end of the flange jumps out of the mix a bit hot, could be my rig). I'd pin-point a time for you, but it's right before the refrain of Krazy Kamikase starts.I'll have to listen, but I think that might be a last minute fader move that got out of hand. I'll check it--- Thanks!Quote:- could the chorus use some kind of extra high-pitched whining thingy, to make it stand out a little more. Something that sound like a crazy kamikase? Like that Led Zepplin thing from that song years ago.We played with some synth things, but for time sake left it to later -- I think I know what I want there, but it's going to take some tweaking to get the sound.Quote:I didn't listen to " Cake", so my suggestions could make your cake a little too salty. And not in the right vein for the listing. As I have posted many times, understanding listing requirements is never a strong point for me. I hope we interpreted the listing properly for this one-- that's always a challenge. It didn't seem that they wanted a Cake ripoff, but just similar tempo/style. Also we never mentioned the word survive-- but tried to use imagery that could fit the description of the montage with an overcoming/surviving/subversiveness Aub

Well - both Ponch and I agreed that the bass was a lack of sleep disorder--- to that end, and a few more subtle tweaks:Krazy Kamikase

Aub - I don't know the "a la's" but I think this is VERY cool. It's got a great groove, and I love the attitude that comes across in the vocals and the arrangement. Great playing & good production. Even if you don't make it for this listing (are they nuts) I think you got a winner. I'm dancing in my chair. Yeah!

Yeah!I'm changing the story -- So I says to Ponco -- Hey Ponch do you think we can do a song in 22 hours or less for this listing that will make Vicki dance in her chair?? And he says, "Sure man, let's rock".
