Anyone knows any good AU free software? Mainly speaking about sounds not effects.

Antress plugins will work in any VST host on the Mac or in a VST wrapper.

Man Wavosaur rocks!!! I do ALL my stereo master editing in it now. No install required.. runs from a tiny .exe.

There are a handful of freeware plugs that I think are VERY good and I use often, even on major label stuff.*Blueline delay (love that thing, use it all the time... don't think it's available anymore... would probably have a heartattack if I could no longer use it)*SIR (are you kidding me??? I have some springs in there I use very often)*Antress 81 EQ (this thing is starting to become my default EQ)*Blockfish (great on parallel drums or room mics… don’t use it for much else)*Spitfish (great desser for vox and very easy to use)*Kjaerhause classic compressor*DDMF (killer EQ, but a pain in the ass to use so I only use it when nothing else does the trick… technically not free, but you name your price)

jonathanm suggested that I post this info on this post for those who might be interested.------------------------------------------They offer downloads of Mac AU / Mac VST and Windows DX / Windows VSTPro Tools users, if you use the VST to RTAS Adapter you may want to consider checking them out.The free pack includes: Chorus, Peak Meter, Flanger, FreqAnalyst,Gain Suite, Phaser, Stereo Chorus, Stereo Flanger, Triple EQ.Computer Music magazine included the FreqAnalyst CM as part of a free package. You can download it free from the Blue Cat site.Below I've included a short write up on them that was in the July 2007 Electronic Musician magazine. They said "the frequency analyzer is exceptional."I have not used any Blue Cat products as of yet. I'm loading the FreqAnalyst CM as soon as I finish this post.If anyone gives them a try, please come back and share your results with us. Blue Cat Pluginshttp://www.bluecataudio.com/Products/Bundle_FreewarePack/VST Adapterhttp://www.fxpansion.com/index.php?page=15Don't be fooled by the price; there's a lot to like in the free bundle. At the top of the list are three great-sounding time-based effects: chorus, phaser, and flanger.[...] Each of these effects is capable of subtle as well as extreme processing. Of course, the purpose of giving away these plug-ins is to encourage you to buy their more full-featured brethren. But each plug-in is useful, and the frequency analyzer is exceptional. Furthermore, they all come with PDF manuals, onscreen help, basic presets, and multiple skins. - Len Sasso - Electronic Musician (July 2007 issue) GB
