Re: The Breath Of Dawn - New Age
Mazz... I ran it through Analyst.. there was a lot of content in the area you specified.. 200-300... mostly from the string swells I think. I tweaked eqs until the graph was more uniform.. the peaks are gone now from that range.. also, faded in the lower strings as you advised..Hope this is better... this mixing and mastering stuff is hard!!!thanks,Marlin

For the listing looking for stuff that is good for Yoga...Appreciate any helpful feedback!! thanks,Marlinhttp://www.taximusic.com/stream/277449/The%20B ... Dawn.mp3Hi Marlin...For the opening I'd definitely smooth out the tone of what sounds like a sitar sound and give it a gradual attack... not so abrupt. FWIW... I kind of hear this slowed down a bit... more relaxed with a slower tempo. You'll get all kinds of opinions so take those comments with a grain of salt. One thing for sure, it is a nice composition with, overall, soothing sounds. Hope that helps,Dave

Re: The Breath Of Dawn - New Age
Billy.. thanks a lot!Dave, at one point I wondered about slowing it down.. but I had already done the classical guitar parts.. I could see about some time stretching.. a good exercise to practice. I thot it may a bit more relaxed at about 5 bmp slower. I did ease into the first sitar part (actually, some Turkish thingy that I forgot the name of) but maybe I need to take off more attack. Thanks so much for listening and for the feedback!Marlin

Re: The Breath Of Dawn - New Age
Hi Marlin,Im no expert on the new age listings requirements, but would like to go there myself. The first 10-15sec surprised me as the bass pad felt a bit dark sounding to me, but after that it became more and more soothing. Not sure if it is a little too busy towards the end for new age, but I got sort of that morning dew feel that you'd want just before meditating, so I guess it works fine.Production wise Im no expert either, but the mix sounded pretty good. Perhaps I think you could back off the mix reverb a notch, and perhaps just add more of it to the classical guitar track.Just my 2c..
