The Lion Sleeps Tonight
Help me please,,,,I've been searching through the 'Archives', and can't seem to find the original Post Someone (Maybe Mani?) Posted a link, back in November, to the 'history' behind Solomon Linda's song 'M'Bube'...Also known as 'Wimoweh',,,but most famously known as 'The Lion Sleeps Tonight'....I just saw on JPFolks, that the courts have finally served down some, very belated, justice....I don't know how to cut & paste,,,??? http://www.cnn.com/2006/SHOWBIZ/Music/0 ... .htmlMaybe that will work...Oh happy day, the link appears to work!!!(at least for me) But if not, ,,,and if you want to read the rest of the story,,,you can go to JPFolks, & check on the General Message Forum, and look at the end of the Post titled 'Embezzlement Scandal Hits SGA''...And, what I'm really asking, hoping & praying, is that the original TAXI Poster (maybe Mani?)...Will again Post the 'link' here re: the 3 part Solomon Linda story???Really 'Preciate it...Midnite

Re: The Lion Sleeps Tonight
Oops...My bad....It wasn't a TAXI Post...It was a JPFolks Post from last October (not November)....But I was right, Mani is the guilty party.I've bumped Mani's original Post on the JPFolks board under the SGA embezzlement thread...The Link Mani sends us to is a very long read, but it is incredible journalism & EXTREMELY informative....Well worth any songwriters time to read, study, cry & learn from.Midnite

Thanks for posting this Midnite Bob,I'm glad some sort of justice has finally been done. I just hope all the people who've profiteered for so long have the good grace not to appeal the decision. For anyone interested in the history of this song here's the original link:http://www.3rdearmusic.com/forum/mbube2.html

I agree,It's one of the most eye-opening and saddening music history/industry articles I've come across and should be read by every musician.
