Saw a lot of NRA bumper stickers
In the parking of Wal-Mart
One old duffer looked like trouble,
He had more n just a couple
Plastered on his golf cart

When I look around these days
I wonder what that says

About the state of these United States
And what makes this country great
The threat is real
And it sure feels like people are afraid
Freedom is the last frontier
It’s sad to see it disappear
I’m tellin’ it straight
Cos that’s the state
Of these United States

And the Good Lord knows it’s hard to make it
Here at home in time like these
Cos sometimes it seems,
Even the American dream
Is made overseas

Other folks just loot n burn n shout
Lord, it’s enough to make me doubt

The state of these United States
And what makes this country great
