The Story of Gerry Rafferty
Singer Gerry Rafferty was best-known for his 1978 hit titled "Baker Street". He was also famous for the Stealer's Wheel hit titled "Stuck In The Middle". Here is a one-hour film documentary about Gerry's life and career....as told by his family, his band members, and Gerry himself. Enjoy!

You are most-welcome, Sedge! Btw, I liked your song on that Taxi Critique show on Taxi TV Ustream. Not every song stood out for me, or grabbed me. Yours did.

Re: The Story of Gerry Rafferty
When I was a kid, my Dad was working on construction at a radio station. They gave him a whole box of promotional albums they didn't want. There were some greats, including the just released original Woodstock concert and others (OK, I'm no kid now). For me, the best was Canned Wheat by the Guess Who ... I had never heard of them at the time, but that's the one that inspired me to take up the guitar.
Also there was this odd folksy duet called the Humblebums, using instruments like banjos and singing about topics like the civil war, they were no where near the mainstream. But I liked it and played it a lot. They broke up and Gerry Rafferty went on to form Stealers Wheels, and then on to his solo career.
Thanks for the link!
Jim

Thanks for the tip! Rafferty's album "North and South" is on my all time favourite list.
Part of my formative years for sure. Gerry ROCKS!

Re: The Story of Gerry Rafferty
I watched the video over the weekend and totally enjoyed it. Sometimes you lose touch with older music, and it was nice to hear it again. Until now I liked his music but never knew anything about his life or personality, so it was quite interesting to see that side of him. I was also glad they spent some time on his Humblebums phase, I had forgotten all about the song "Blood and Glory" which I used to listen to all the time. A great tune that's off the beaten path.
Thanks, Jim
