Hey, Liam, I read on You Tube that The Verve borrowed that very prominent string sound that "Bittersweet Symphony" has from a Stone's song, although I don't know which Stone's tune it is. It's my understanding they had to give Keith and Mick a co-write for it.Bill, you are a cool dad, LOL....how many daughters get those kind of 'room decorations' from their dads???

Chits, Silvercord I had read that somewhere too (about sampling the strings motif). Never managed to find out which Stones song it was though Bill, that sounds like a helluvan apartment Liam

Hey All,Trusty Useless Information Brad is here...The track from the stones is called The Last Time and they sampled the Andrew Oldham Orchestral recording...Hope that helps?Take CareB

But that's why we love you, Brad. Funny how when listening to 'Bittersweet Symphony' you could almost directly replace the vocals with Jagger singing and it would sound like it had been written for him...maybe they were just trying to rep'em off all the way around . Either way, I still like it.
