I was speaking to my mother about our ethnic heritage. It was "then" that she told me I had a bit of Swedish blood in me. "I bet I don't have more "than" Orest does", I replied. (quotation marks for emphasis only!)A little context goes a long way!Mazz

Hey, I hear the Norwegians make jokes about the Finns, who do the Swedes make fun of? Is it the Danes? around here, the Dutch make fun of the Poles, and the Hoosiers make fun of the Kentuckians. Do Aussies make fun of New Zealanders? Meet you all at the joke thread.....

Hey Orest,Don't forget this little change in spelling, this one REALLY grates me when people misuse it...To and Too....To - represents point of location or confirms an action you will carry out..E.g. I am going to do that, or I am going to London.Too - expresses exaggeration or a hyperbole...E.g. That amount of food is too much to eat. I know it's silly, but it really bugs the crap outta me when I see paperwork with it done incorrectly.

Bradn, you are right about to and too. I will always do my best to separate those 2 words. Please let me know when I'm using them incorrectly, and when I'm building sentences the wrong way. Mojobone, we are making fun of the Norwegians (but with love from my part, I do love that country and its people). This thread turned out to be pretty amusing!

Often misusedYour (Possession) / You're (You are)There (Location) / Their (Possession) / They're (They Are)If you're going to San Francisco is right. If your going to San Francisco is not.Be sure to wear some flowers in your hair is right.Be sure to wear some flowers in you're hair is not.
