Hi - I talked to Michael Laskow and let him know that I had heard as early as Aug 9th that only a few of the "rally rate rooms" were left at the Rally hotel, and that I'd heard that, on Aug 19th, one forum member tried to book a room and was told the hotel was full. Also a couple of people had their credit cards charged for the *entire* stay, *twice* (instead of the first night deposit) & had to deal with getting refunds.Michael checked with the hotel and would like reassure members that there ARE still rooms available at the Hotel and he's alerted them to the overcharging.He asked me to pass on the hotel response:Hi Michael and Tina, I can’t be complete sure what is going on but I’ve only noticed about a dozen or so notifications of people who have had trouble booking online because they wanted to arrive as early as November 1st and 2nd. We were not holding any rooms for those dates but since we’ve seen the demand we have been adding a few rooms for these dates as we get the notifications from the Stargroups website. I imagine that people calling to make reservations for the same dates have had the same trouble. Since we now added rooms to November 1, 2 and 3 I expect people will be able to book their rooms now. We will continue to monitor the block and add more rooms where needed. Another thought is perhaps the attendees don’t want to be charged the first night’s deposit and decide not to book since they may be using debit cards and they don’t want to be out of any of their monies. Our accounting department has been made aware that some people were charged for their full stay up front and have credited the person’s credit cards. I will remind them again to be careful not to let this happen again.feel free to post it,ML
