Interesting - another writer Paul McCartney said he dreamed writing the song YESTERDAY.

Quote:This is now the second time I have heard music in my dreams and it is some of the best starting points I have had. I've done that as well. Unfortunately, I've probably tossed albums full of decent material out the window by not writing it down. "Oh, that's so good, I'll remember that" Right? Yeah.. not so much. Like dreams themselves, these songs go pretty quickly if they're not captured. But it does tend to be some of the best material. I'm trying to have the discipline to get up and record it, write it down.. whatever it takes.I've found the motion thing seems to help too. There's nothing like a motorcycle ride to clear your head and take a break from writing music. Of course, I get tons of ideas on the bike. It's a great place to write. Kind of rules it out as a place to escape writing... but it is a fertile ground.

Good call, Steve. And FWIW, I've been writing down my dreams for YEARS now, and not only have they proven themselves (after the fact) to be incredibly prophetic, I've used several of them as the basis for musical storylines... Our subconscious mind is a HUGE, powerful tool not to be overlooked or dismissed. Now, if I could only have the self-discipline to work with it more often... Ted

Wow, how great to hear someone talk about this. I love Napoleon Hills book. Every time I read it my energy level goes up and miracles happen. I apply it by intending my day/sessions. I see myself with the finished product; proud and happy with the song I wrote, how all of my friends and fans are blown away by it and ton's of music publishers and labels are just going nuts over it...okay, okay maybe I'm throwing too much out all at once. Most of the time creativity just flows through me.Have you watched "The Secret?" I so recommend it for everyone. Thanks for the post!JVB

The Rally, exemplified everything I've ever read about the Secret, and so many other ideologies. I think that's one of the main reasons I loved it so much. You can easily tell everyone on here is vibrating at a higher level, since the weekend.

Steve, I remember your saying you were not going to be at the rally. That was only a couple of weeks ago. Then suddenly people are posting from the rally that you are there. How did that happen? Ah, you devil, you planned to be there all along, didn't you?

Hey, very cool ideas. I have heard about this concept of clearing all resistance from the mind so it can return to it's perfect state. The analogy I heard was that of a cork, submerged below the surface, held there by resistance and once the resistance is gone, the cork pops back up to the surface, where it can float along perfectly, just how it was meant to. Something like that anyway!
