This Song Sounds Like --- ???

Hey All,

I played this "car song" for a publisher awhile ago, and he said "It sounds like ***************. It's a rip-off."

Does this song sound like any other song to you? I see it as a flashback song to the 60s about muscle cars. Good for a movie. That's it.

Fugettabout the intro and outro --- This was just a tag song at the end of a CD by my band "Room w/a View," and was totally different from the other material. We'd do this live as a weird and wild encore just for fun!

Hey .. It sounds a little like a dozen other songs that I can't put my finger on... Rip off-schmip off... Every song is a rip off of another song in some way .. There's only so many notes and rythms I guess. Like you said fuggetaboutit.. Its good one for something out there..
BTW I think you should take the outro and butt it up against the last note of the song and have it fade off.

Maybe a little like Sammy Hagar. I don't know.

Can't fault the production. Great "driving" beat and feel.

Lots of energy and emotion in the vox.

Much better than anything I have ever put together?

Would be fun to hear what won that category. One could compare.

Hey Ern..Yeah.. Does sound a bit like Pink Caddy. But that said it is still a good track. I'd try another publisher....
BTW after listening to the backward voices at the end I feel this compelling urge to burn all my Bruce Springsteen CDs and run down the street naked......Weird

Well Ern, it reminds me of AC/DC maybe, but I have to say I'm not all that familiar with them because they were sort of after the time I really listened to this style music. Well after youtubing them I guess I've inadvertently heard more than I thought,lol, Highway to Hell?
I remember 'Hells Bells" 'cause my mom used to say that,lol!


I had to youtube Bruce Springsteen's "Pink Cadillac", and I have to say he sounded more Johnny Cash or maybe it was because he was dressed all in black, than ac/dc. I was thinking the ac/dc song "back in black" was a tribute to J.C., though I guess it could have been a tribute to Springsteen,lol!

You are correct, rld. But it's just a bluesy melody, and can a few similar notes in a song that is 90% different be fodder for a lawsuit? This is no "My Sweet Lord" situation where the WHOLE song was the same! --- Besides, I don't think The Boss would sue me --- er --- Bruce, want to weigh in on this topic?
