Wanna try some bvs for this song. We are shooting to have the recording finished by Feb 10 to submit to a movie. Can't pay you upfront, but if we make any money, some will come your way. Download prelim mix here: Lyric below .. updated from the mix .. still refining it. Don't spend much time on it, just try a few things. Use your imagination. Give the chorus more lift. Send me your dry vox files, we'll mix it in and see what works and/or do your own rough mix and send me that. Just to get an idea of what you are thinking. Then we'll record final vox in 10 days or so. thanks for considering it,Dean-------------------------------------------------------------------------

Re: WANTED: BACKING VOCALS
Hey dean Gosh thought it would be fun to play with your offer... keep it quick & easy just throw something out there per your suggestion.... After a listen I'm not sure how to approach this one though... A traditional 'word for word' harmony is probably not what your looking for, and the original singer is probably best suited for that job anyways. I like the rap songs that get to the chorus and have some traditional singing, be it the main vocal or some background wave for the rapper to ride on ...... creates that great lift. But songs like Shaggys "It wasent Me" are probably considered "soft rap" to hard core rappers. Who knows a bit of that soft side appeal outside the core may help in a movie deal (?) Chris

Re: WANTED: BACKING VOCALS
Chris,Thanks! Your soft side idea sounds great. Go for it. This is not a very 'street/hard core' lyric, so i believe your idea can work. Just go for anything that works for you .. be creative .. don't take a lot of time with it. If it works we'll record a final vocal in a week or 2. You might sing 'bounce' or 'bounce with it' underneath some of the chorus parts .. if you can make that work it might be cool. Or some other 'summary' type words, like maybe 'elevate' or 'it's all new .. it's all good' or whatever you come up with. And if you are game, we are creating a 'crowd' type effect for one part of the chorus. We'll need 'many' voices for it. I'll drop you a line when we are ready for that. Thanks,Dean

Re: WANTED: BACKING VOCALS
Well no promises, But I'll give it another listen and see if anything hits me. I felt what I had to offer was very basic and perhaps too stereotypical for the genre... I'd haft to work pretty hard to come up with anythng you guys hadn't thought of already. Dont be afraid to contact me should a more pop/rock piece come along. Wouldent mind a full collab sometime. Basic might work just fine. And our producer might be able to bring out something different in it. Try it, if you want.
