TIME MACHINE
TIME MACHINE Why take the time, why take the troubleTo find what lies beneath the rubbleIt makes no sense to find what lies aheadFor by that time we all may well be dead. There’s no space here, no endings, no beginningsWe simply keep on turning, faster, spinningBut straight ahead, a new world, bright and clearCould this be heaven – rushing ever near?chorus (shortened)Take the time machine And fly it even faster---- Passing all the times ahead And even death when dead! This planet’s bare and not a land complete,Signs lie on the ground - - -On which these words are found“Quiet please” and “Oxford Street” chorus (Full) Take the time machine And fly it even faster---- Passing all the times ahead And even death when dead! Far beyond the ultimate disaster. Let’s take the time machine ----- Take the time machine-take the time machine-take the time machine------- Melody SuggestionsChorus ‘Ticking’ sound, rising in volume in the background before start of 1st line. Then repeat 1st line4 times, rising in volume, to the same ‘ticking’ beat. Extend ‘faster’ rising in scale ? Brief 2 beat pause after ‘ahead’. Without ‘music’ (?) just beat/’space noise’ to hear the words. The last line of the last verse: “Quiet please” and “Oxford Street” spoken clearly, with echoes following, then fading, before rising to crescendo, to the last Chorus.Copyright © Billy Ross 2008.
