Tunesat anyone?

Post by gen5020 » Wed Sep 23, 2009 5:13 am

Hey all, I was wondering if anyone is using TUNESTAT (www.tunestat.com) and if so, how are you liking it?I spoke with the rep yesterday and it sounds great but maybe a little out of my price range for my song count. For those who haven't heard of it, from what I can gather, you give them your tracks, they take a musical fingerprint of it and have their computers monitor every show on TV 24/7 and so you can see if they are using your tracks.Another question I would have is even if a song came up, if you have a song in 4 or 5 libraries non-exclusively, how could you figure out who licensed it? Anyway, just curious if anyone is using it.Thanks.Dave

I don't think I would pay for this. The libraries I have signed with have all registered my titles and my PRO keeps track from there. Granted there is always the possibility of placements falling through the cracks, but even assuming that you actually did catch a few placements with Tunestat's service I don't think it would add up to enough $$$ to break even.-Steve
