If you actually watch this show (and you don't exactly have to be Sherlock Holmes to figure out which show it is ;) ), you will hear that Lydia and David's song is the sound of the show. The various versions of the theme they created are not only used for the open in about half of the shows, but also for the majority of bumpers and for the credit roll in just about every episode (that I've seen so far).

I'm glad Dave pointed out that Lydia had to put up with a LOT to get this theme, and the competition was fierce, and that's why she deserves this success even more.

If you work hard and consistently for many years, never miss an opportunity to improve your composition and production skills and make yourself a pleasure to work with, at some point you'll probably hit the jackpot. And even if you don't, you're still likely to make a pretty nice living from the hundreds of pieces of quality music you will hopefully have created over the course of those many years.

Way to go Lydia, I've already told you this but it bears repeating: it couldn't have happened to a nicer, harder working and more talented person.

Congratulations Lydia! Your music tells the tale of why you are successful. I really admire the writers here at taxi like yourself that write like you do. I love the elegant simplicity in your songs. Songs that when I listen to them I say to myself "I can have a go at something like that," and then I try and it is not simple at all! Even if I can't write like that, it inspires me to improve in my own style. Much luck to you going forward. Hopefully I can make it to the rally next year and see what all the fuss is about. :D

I am not sure how lucky one producer can be. Your success. Pete's and Steve's success this last year. all the work the other composers do Matt, Mazz, Chris, and others who were here for so long. The kind comments given to you from your actual peers here shows that you are a diamond among diamonds

@Richard (remmet) -- Thank you so much! That means a lot! It was so great to meet you at the Rally. :)

@brindabella -- Love the smiling animals, faces and balloons!!!! :D Thank you also for your kind words! :)

@Richard (kitchensinkmusic) -- Thank you!:) (To clarify though - the 450+ placements are not all different tunes - they have used the same tunes several times... I look forward to when I have that many cues in rotation though. One step at a time... ) :)

@Mark -- Thank you very much! It was so great meeting you at the Rally. :) (email is coming soon)

@Rob -- Thank you so much!! :) Yeah, I know what you mean about the Rally. There were so many people I wanted to meet and before I knew it the Rally was over. Hopefully we get to meet next year! :)

@Matto -- Thank you for this post. (and for your kind words!) You are so right about all of this, and if anyone would know how this business works it is you. I had no idea how much pressure both physically (basically no sleep for days on end) and emotionally (lots of stress) this process would be. Not only before the theme was picked, but more so after. Of course it was all worth it. To make things more interesting Nathan (my husband) was in Germany when I found out they had picked our theme so I was also a "single mom" during the final sprint. (It helps to have great kids - they were SO gracious during this whole process). On top of that I had no way of getting a hold of Nathan to tell him the happy news... Finally I called his boss who asked him to contact me... :lol:

@JH -- Thank you!!! :)

@Paul -- Thank you so much! :) Yes, you should definitely try to get to the Rally. This was my first year going and I loved it! :)

@Cat Herder -- Thank you!!! ! It is truly a remarkable group of composers and I feel honored and humbled to be part.
