Nice to come home from Road Rally and get two (out of three) forwards for the recent Americana listing. One of the biggest takeaways for me from the Rally was expanding opportunities in "genre adjacent" areas. I write lots of country, so extending my scope to Americana and folk makes good sense.
The listing stated: "Please submit modern Americana/Folk Songs with a homegrown, down-to-earth sound and lots of great, Americana-based instrumentation! Your submissions should have compelling melodies, engaging rhythms, great musicianship, catchy hooks, well-crafted lyrics, and solid arrangements. Organic Americana/Folk instrumentation in the general ballpark of the references will work best, such as acoustic guitar, banjo, mandolin, dobro, fiddle, drums, etc."
My forwards were:
Hard Times Leave Me Alone
https://www.taxi.com/members/RyiDDiJ7Qw ... e-me-alone
and
One Eye on the Road
https://www.taxi.com/members/RyiDDiJ7Qw ... americana-
Fingers crossed!

Re: Two Americana Forwards
So great Gary! Congratulations on the two forwards.
Love the dobro on "Hard Times Leave Me Alone" and the lyric "That's one less day my back will break"!
The pickup into One Eye on the Road has me won over right from the get go. Just love the instrumentation on the whole track. I'm betting Funsongs will dig this one TONS!
Here's to hope!
