Two Forwards!

Post by blimp » Fri Aug 22, 2008 11:29 am

I am excited. Once again, it's nice to get the positive feedback! This was the listing: S080724IPINDIE POP/ALTERNATIVE ROCK SONGS a la Gomez, Nada Surf, Death Cab For Cutie, The Thrills, Doves, etc. are wanted by a West Coast Music Publisher for a variety of TV projects. This company has signed and placed dozens of TAXI songs over the years. They're open to a wide variety of approaches here, but the sound should fit within the range of the artists listed as references. They would prefer male vocals only. Lyrically, you might want to submit material with a universal point of view in order to have the potential to fit with ease into a number of different storylines/settings. Staying away from specific locations, names, times, etc. can allow for more possibilities in terms of Film/TV placements. Excellent performances are absolutely essential. Broadcast quality is definitely needed, though excellent home recordings should be just fine. Please submit one to three songs online or per CD. All submissions will be screened and critiqued by TAXI and must be received no later than July 24, 2008. TAXI #S080724IPI submitted my songs "tiny tiny" and "sweetheart"http://www.taxi.com/blimp

Hey Blimp -- congrats! I especially like Tiny Tiny-- sassy! -- it reminds me of "My I'm Large," by the Bobs (a 4 part a capella group from San Francisco). Similar theme, though yours is very hip and cool!Nice job!Suz

Taxi friend Raags told me she really loved it too. In fact, she told me she annoyed her husband by singing it all day! Now that's the sign of a good hook!Cheers,Allen
