"two step do-si-do" closed..on to something new

Post by feaker66 » Sun Mar 27, 2016 7:31 pm

Sorry about the repost. I am sooo over this song. For a short period of time I thought it might have something. Lesson learned, don't try to do country if you haven't previously lived it:)

Sincerely

Paul

two step do-si-do

Put your lip stick on….the color red I like
Grab those blinged out jeans……the one’s that fit you really tight

You are such a little cutie from your nose to your booty I liked the way you fixed your hair

…. theres gonna be pointing ..there’s gonna be some talkin Cuz you got everything just right

two step do-si-do She’s putting on a good show. Everybody’s watchin her dance
Two step do-si- do, She’s putting on a good show. They’re formin a line to get a chance

Hey that’s my girl. She came in with me. Yeah she looks real fine, just let her be

I had no idea that she liked all this attention.. all those guys gatherin round
They better keep their hands off her.. better back away… or somebody.. IS goin down

Everything was cool when we walked into that honky tonk A guy tapped his buddy, they both turned around
The music started playin I heard the guys howlin I knew something big was goin down
That’s when she started with that

From these old ears... ya gotta good & proper dance groove workin' there, Dude.
But - for me - it needs at least a fiddle, if not some pedal-steel, to really
set the tone for a Country 2-step song.
Sorta depends on what you wanna put into it, and do with it.
For what it's worth... this here's one of my favorites...

Hey Peter Yeah, it needs a ton of help. I don't have the touch for the slide yet, but thanks to you I will work on it today and try it out on the song. I just had a lot of fun doing it and realized that it has been far too long since I played my guitars. I checked out the video. Very cool song.

Thanks for listening once again

Sincerely

Paul

Reminds me of T. Rex even the Vocal
if that helps.

Yeah there is a T. Rex eliminate to this!

I'd change the tone of the lick guitar at 0:32 - make it raunchier.

I'd throw in some acoustic guitar, similar to what the Stones would do on Exile (so it's there, but not really prominent), as there are some elements of the Stones country tunes in here.

You're getting a handle on Ez Drummer now, I see. You can make the drums sounds even better - read this thread from awhile back, it was really helpful: http://forums.taxi.com/post483322.html? ... nd#p483322

Good luck with it.

John

Hi John I hear where you are going with the hint to make those licks raunchier:) That I can do. In the case of EZdrummer, I don't know how to send anything to a buss yet. I did read the post and I see it is "the thing" to do. I think I am also supposed to group guitar tracks with all the same EQ as well

Your two cents is a big help and I will work in that acoustic this after noon. Thanks much

Sincerely

Paul
