A friend of mine whose opinion I trust likes it very much. $1000 list is a very low price for something like that.

That's what I thought. A lot of features for that price. Thanks for the input, Nick.

Nick (or anyone)I can't decide between the Project Studio IO (M Powered PT) and the Command 8 (PT LE). The 8 is about 200 more. I don't know PT well enough to know if there's a significant difference between LE and MPowered. (This is why I hate upgrading). Thanks.Nomi

LE comes with a better software bundle, but on the other hand the M-Audio box will work with software other than Pro Tools and the 002 won't. Or do you really mean the Command 8? That's just a controller - no audio interface.

FWIW, the Project Mix IO is reviewed in the current issue of Keyboard. They liked it enough to give it a "KeyBuy"...you might wanna check it out.

Nick, I was comparing the Command 8 to the Project Studio IO and similtaneously comparing PT LE to PT M-Powered. The interface I choose will determine which software I can use. But your comment about the audio interface made me think I should go with the Project IO. Even though LE is probably better than M, the IO is an audio interface with mic/line preamps.Matt, I'll check out the magazine. Speaking of magazines, I saw you in Recording Magazine (and you called yourself a cog).

Well, we'll probably review the M-Audio in Virtual Instruments mag too.
