I don't remember the details of the listing, but for 70's funk the only thing that sounded out of place is the echo chord pad with the pitch bend--- sounds more 80's Prince to me, but then again I'm just a white boy who never played that funky music Aub

Re: Put Your Funky Stuff Here!
Thanks everyone. Aub, I cheated a bit toward late 70s early 80s because they mentioned Rick James and he used some polyphonic synth around then as did others (Oberheim 4 voice and then OBX and Prophet 5 came in around 79). The Time and Prince brought it in big in the early to mid-80s. I hope my white boy experience playing some of that stuff is still relevant! Hope to hear some others.Mazz

Re: Put Your Funky Stuff Here!
Well Aub got me thinking about the synth brass and even though polyphonic synths were available in the 70s, they may not have been used exactly like I used them. So I did another version using clavinet (for sure a 70s axe!) as the answer part.http://www.taximusic.com/song.php?song_ ... &stream=1I think it's cleaner and more up the middle for the listing:Authentic-sounding 1970s-style FUNK/SOUL/R&B/DISCO INSTRUMENTALS (no vocals) in the vein of Parliament/Funkadelic, the Isley Bros., Rick James, Bootsy Collins, War, the S.O.S. Band, Sly & The Family Stone, etc. are wanted by the President of an LA-based Music Library. Mid- to up-tempo only. An interesting 1-5 second riff at the top of your song is helpful -- it's good to establish the style from the get-go -- but not necessary. And please stay away from MIDI and synth/Casio-sounding tracks. The president is a successful TV music composer and used to be a TAXI Screener himself. TAXI # S070816FK

Groovy stuff Matt Gotta love a bit of funk.http://www.goldingmultimedia.com/dg/70s.aspIt's a tad rough, and incomplete, but it's just for fun so no worries.
It's a fine line between a thick soup and stew.

Re: Put Your Funky Stuff Here!
This isn't "funky", I was going for this disco part of the listing. This is a Love Unlimited Orchestra or Van McCoy type tune."Summer's Gone" (this is a double entendre referring to the season and Donna Summers the disco queen)http://www.broadjam.com/artists/songind ... 26817Chuck

Chuck, if I remembered (or even knew in the first place) how to do the Hustle, I'd be doing it right now! I guess I'll have to settle with pointing my finger in the air! Fun stuff!Mazz
