don't knock that progression I like that progression - didn't it work for Pachelbel?

really like that intro riff, too!

it feels a bit "over sweet" and that factor seems to be pushing it in a specific genre direction, but I was wondering what you were thinking, genre-wise

Are you fitting that "do not steal" line in v2 or the bridge :)

Casey,

I don't see a problem with having the same progression in the verse and chorus. The chorus still sounds quite different from the verse musically.

Nice lyric with a good hook.

Thanks guys.... Still working on it... I hope it's not too 'sweet'. I originally wrote it with John Mayer in mind, thinking about his latest CD and how it's fairly retro. Not sure if that's where it's leading me though... I still have an old fart brain.

Regarding the riff... I wrote that and play it well but it's one of those things where everytime I'm in front of the mic, I mess it up... 1000 takes... Same with getting my strum pattern and timing down for recording... So Allen DeSomer has been offering some help... He's a great musician if you ever need help!

Hopefully an expanded version later...

:) Casey

Hey Casey... nice!! I'm the self proclaimed King of the same root note in the verse and chorus so to me me it sounds great ;) ... I'm hearing a modern rock treatment... quiet intro/verse building into a big chorus... really good hook.... guess some things don't change :)

Peace, Geo

I think it's working just fine.... feels like it may need more of a break section near the end, musical or lyrical, between the choruses... but I like this... hear a couple of different applications.... as is acoustic, Brit/Euro POP, Pop or Pop Punk.

Good luck with it Case!!

Peace, Geo
