Waiting awhile to join

I've been kinda kicking around joining Taxi for awhile. I've really only done a couple films and hate to drop the cash if I'm not ready. This film work seems to be frustrating too. It seems I never get footage and have to guess what's going on. What's your experience with jobs you've landed here?Andy

I joined for the process of submitting music, getting critiques, improving my music, submitting better music (to Taxi and elsewhere). I see Taxi as a long-term thing. I think that people who join Taxi (especially without reading the info on the site) specifically for a "job" or a deal will be disappointed. According to Taxi itself, 94% of their members will be disappointed during a membership year if they joined only because they're counting on a "deal". I'm sure that Taxi is glad I'm not their marketing director, but I'd say that if people joined Taxi to improve their music, that nearly 100% of the membership would be "successful" and satisfied. I've had good deals with Taxi but it's been over a period of several years, a lot of that time spent submitting, getting critiques, improving, etc. Maybe think more about your long-term goals vs short-term goals. I think Taxi is definitely for long-term goal oriented people and not very much for the "overnight success with my hit song" crowd. Dave

Another bonus of joining...It will get you writing more. You'll probably see a listing and say to yourself "I can do that." Then your off. There's nothing like a deadline to keep you working hard.Z
