Yeah, Doug, I did submit to that one, just waiting for my rejection notice.douglasricketts wrote: ↑Thu May 22, 2025 12:03 amHey, there's a sync listing that something like this might fit. Due Sunday 5/25.
------------------
Lots of '70s-Style PSYCHEDELIC ROCK INSTRUMENTALS are needed by the CEO of a great Music Library with International Distribution and lots of success in Film and TV placements.
This Library is searching for Down-to-Mid-Tempo Instrumentals in the general stylistic wheelhouse of the following references:
"Time" by Pink Floyd
"Since I've Been Loving You" by Led Zeppelin
"Have A Cigar" by Pink Floyd
Although the references have vocals, please submit ORIGINAL INSTRUMENTALS ONLY.
IMPORTANT: This Company is open to both vintage material (recorded back in the '70s, give or take a few years) OR recently recorded/produced Songs in the same style as the references. If you're submitting recently recorded material, it needs to truly capture the sound, feel, and vibe of the era.
Please submit well-crafted Psychedelic Rock Instrumentals with a trippy vibe that sounds straight out of the '70s! This Company is hunting for tracks that capture the iconic sound and style of Psychedelic Rock coming from Great Britain in the 70s, with lots of spacey textures and emotive guitar work. Your submissions should have hypnotic energy, psychedelic motifs, and solid arrangements with plenty of forward development. Instrumentation and production in the general ballpark of the references will work best, such as electric guitar, bass guitar, drums, organ, analog synthesizer, electric piano, phaser fx, etc. Please make sure any virtual instruments or samples you use are high-quality and era/genre appropriate.
All submissions should be about 2 to 4 minutes long (give or take) with non-faded, buttoned/stinger endings. Don't copy the references in any way, shape, or form. Use them only as a general guide for tempo, tone, texture, and overall vibe. Don't submit any material with unauthorized samples of any other artists’ music, sounds, or any other form of media. Broadcast Quality is needed.
AI ALERT: This company won't accept or sign music that has been melodically composed using generative AI, and they don't accept backing tracks or full instrumental tracks created with AI.
This company offers an EXCLUSIVE deal. You’ll split any upfront sync fees 50/50. They’ll get 100% of the Publisher’s share, and you’ll get 100% of the Writer’s share. You must own or control your Master and Copyright to submit for this opportunity, and you need to be affiliated with a Performing Rights Organization for this company to include your music in their catalog. Since this is an EXCLUSIVE deal, please be sure the material you submit for this pitch is NOT already signed with other Libraries or Catalogs. Please submit as many Instrumentals as you’d like, online or per CD. Submissions must be received no later than 11:59 PM (PDT) on Sunday, May 25th, 2025. TAXI # S250525VS

Aw man! I try not to think of it that way. Even changed the name of the folder I keep submissions in from "Rejections" to "Returns." It keeps me from thinking of the music as a fail, and more like an opportunity to learn more about the sync world.

Re: Weirdest Song I've Ever Written
That is a great attitude, and good advice. I'm actually finally starting to figure this thing out. I was recently accepted into a library with a fairly prolific track record. And I think I am starting to understand the sync formula, so from now on I'll do one for me and one for themdouglasricketts wrote: ↑Thu May 22, 2025 9:29 amAw man! I try not to think of it that way. Re: Weirdest Song I've Ever Written
That's great news! I haven't been signed to a library based on my forwards yet, I'm jealous. Nice work.
