What do you do other than writing music?

Wow, this is kinda weird. I was thinking about starting a thread with this same topic yesterday . I have a screenplay in the works as well. Just like my music, I am not too terribly serious about finishing it .Take CareSteve

I'm a gigging musician/ renovator/ industrial temp. I play piano, mostly, but also acoustic bass and some percussion, guitar and mandolin. I've had my hand in several trades over the years so I do renovation....framing, drywall hanging and finishing, painting, etc.. I had a fun temporary job last year for an industrial lighting fixture place....it paid the bills.

I'm the pianoman in a swanky bar in town. It's a small town though... so swanky only means we have motion-activated towel dispensers. I sing, tell jokes, take requests, and get hit on by any woman who is at least twice my age. That would be awesome if I were twelve years old. Sadly, I'm not.I also do graphic design and some web development, and I LOVE myself some videogames -dave

Well, within the last month things have changed drastically for me. I used to be a cable guy but I am no longer. With that, I've decided to pursue music and writing on a full time level. My writing involves blogging at The Truth Manifesto, an online journal that I'm sure everyone here will love to hate , and writing the first of a novel quadrilogy called The Twelve: The Garnering. This link is more of a trailer than anything.In addition, I'm now looking to use my studio for a larger palette of projects. That includes voice overs which I happen to like to do in addition to other freelance projects. The life change has been nothing but a blessing for me. I genuinely feel as if I'm actually just beginning to live now. I'm looking forward to whatever challenges lie ahead. Jude 2

I play viola with a quartet at weddings and parties + play with the symphony in town. Besides gigging and my composing I have three kids ages 6,5 and 3. That is a full-time job in itself.

Oh - and I actually did my first paid acting gig a couple of months ago. (a commercial for a hospital) I was a mom who brought in my son who had broken his arm. (not sure if this is anything I'll pursue further though. It was fun but I would rather compose...)

I was marketing director of a porn company called Private, but i left that 2 months ago to concentrate on my music full time
