Hey Cass

Great track. Got to be ElectroPop!!! I too think the guitar ought to be down a smidge, but not too far. Really fun to listen to.

Thanks for your input Mike!
So I did "Pink Noise" all of my levels and then reworked a few underlying sounds and some drum hits, also shortened a small section...
After Monday's Taxi TV with ML and Ronan Chris Murphy and their tips on compression I decided to go heavier on the mix bus Multiband Compressor
I think it got me to where I wanted to go!
Other than one drum part lazily disappearing, I'm pretty happy with it.
Still open for critiques

Hey Cass,

The new mix is even better than the original, which was pretty great to start even if it was a little hot.

My gut feeling is the same as others have expressed re: the heavy guitars. I really like them personally, but it might make it harder to place for film or TV because they give the song a whole different vibe when they come in. Maybe it would make sense to have them in consistently for one section of the song, rather than repeatedly entering and exiting?

That said, maybe this could work without any changes as a song bed pitch to an up and coming Electropop or K-Pop artist who wanted to push against the grain with the retro guitars?

Hope this is helpful!

Thanks Bill! :D
I originally (sorta) wrote/recorded this for an edgy female pop singer collab that fell through...
Each time I tried to pull the guitars out it became too sterile for my taste so I've stuck with them
Now to fix the disappearing drums! :P

Love everything about the track Cass. Sorry I can't help out with the genre/home for it.

Just wanted to give it a +1 :)

That definitely makes more sense :)

Like I said, I think the guitars are awesome... hopefully I'm way off and the quirkiness they add will actually make it easy to place. Thinking back, it actually sounds like the kind of track that might have opened an episode of Castle. Too bad that one got canceled :(

I dunno it sounds like too many competing parts when they all play at once.

Thanks Bill! :D

Thanks Mark! I agree with you, I have a very hard time keeping things sparse
Could probably do better in this industry if I could just simplify everything!
I am really trying to work on it...
Thank you for your honesty! :D
