what genre??

Post by bacanador » Mon Jul 14, 2008 8:08 am

Hello EverybodyI recently joined taxi, my two brothers and I have been writing music for years and we have always wondered about taxi, we finally decided to Join and star submitting music, we write in various music genres, and sometimes it is hard for me to identify which style or music genre fits a certain piece we write. When we wrote this song we were thinking about Rock, it might be Pop/Americana, not sure, let me know what you guys think, I thought this might be a good place to start to find out where should we go with our music.http://www.taximusic.com/song.php?song_ ... trueThanks in advance

I would classify this as Pop or pop/rock... don't over think it too much... Good stuff! And if you're submitting for songs, this demo isn't bad at all. If you're submitting as an artist however, you may want to re-master it... the hard panning is a little harsh and overall it's a little thumpy and muffled from the bass. Just some thoughts.Hope that helps!

Thanks for the comments, I try not to think about it when writing, but then when submitting we were not sure were it would fit. You are right it needs re-mastering, with this song we were experimenting with different things as we learned, we might have over used the stereo enhancer, which has that effect of somehow separating left and right channels even more. We are still learning, and our recordings are getting better day by day, even to get them to sound like this it took a few years.

Sounds like a pop song to me. It's a very nice sound. Nice harmonies and I like the organ in the background. Bass was a bit growly, but not overly offensive. Good luck with it. Wig
