Having a reliable, long-term email address is an absolute must to be in this business (as well as any other) period. If you had a forward and the party wanted to contact you, they would do so directly with the email you provided, not through taxi. So having AOL/taxi email problems shouldn't matter. That being said, if you know there might be problems, why wouldn't set up another free email account- gmail, hotmail, or yahoo, etc. just in case? Complaining about taxi email issues (even if taxi should resolve some problem of theirs) but not being proactive as it relates to your music career doesn't make much sense to me.Best,Casey

I guess I could give it a shot and then just forget about it!Claire, lose A-O-hell and get yourself a free email account with Google (Gmail), Yahoo, Hotmail, etc. They have a long history of doing things their own bad way.Steve

I appreciate all the good advice about dumping AOL. So far, as far as Taxi's been concerned, the two companies that contacted me were able to do so with no problem. Other than that, all my pitching happens in Nashville and it's either by mp3 or by CD, coming out of meetings or pitch sessions or through pluggers, so everyone knows my email address and my phone numbers. I seriously doubt that any of the country submissions that have been forwarded by Taxi are ever going to materialize into anything, so I'm not real worried about someone wanting to contact me by email and not being able to. Not to say that it couldn't happen - for all I know Keith Urban has been desperately trying to locate me and AOL is blocking his emails!I'm also in the phone book, being the dinosaur that I am, so anyone wanting to find Ulanoff in Nashville wouldn't have too hard a time doing it Thanks for the speedy reply, Craig.Claire
