Here's a work in progress. I searched the forum for more detail on what exactly an "instrumental bed" is but don't completely understand yet. Does it still need dynamic builds? Edit points? I'm assuming it's for voice over. Does this track work? What would help it? All feedback appreciated.

ALT/INDIE ROCK INSTRUMENTAL BEDS a la Neon Trees, Bastille, Young the Giant, etc., needed by one of the world's premier Production Music Libraries to push to over 700+ radio and TV affiliates all over the world! They have a constant demand for new material and said, "Only the best will do!" They're NOT looking for sound-alikes, but need ORIGINAL, Mid-To-Up-Tempo Instrumental Tracks "inspired by" the artists/genre referenced above. The deal structure is a $2,500 FLAT FEE rate on a BUY-OUT basis. (They will own the Master and Copyright.) Your Tracks should be Broadcast Quality (great sounding home recordings will be fine). Give them top-quality, "radio-ready" pieces of music that are stylistically current, relevant, and compatible with today's hit songs and artists. PLEASE READ THIS: Music must have a BUTTON ENDING - no fade-outs! Submit 60-SECOND track length ONLY (including any reverb tail). If your tracks are chosen, the company will need stereo mp3 files, with an audio bit rate of 256 kbps, formatted in :15 / :30 / :60 lengths. No need to submit these to the listing at this time, but HAVE THEM READY TO GO!

Re: What's An Instrumental Bed? Does this work?
The 60/30/15 second requirements make me think each stem will be played in it's entirety and someone will add a voiceover for a tv/radio ad. I think that rules out any further edit points. Not sure about the builds, that's what I've been wondering also. To me, "instrumental bed" seems to be one constant groove throughout. I have some tracks for similar listings that have a chorus/verse/chorus structure and I'm wondering if even that is too much variation.
I know it seems picky, but your tracks tail end crosses the 60 sec mark by a few seconds. From what I've heard previously, I think that's a very strict rule. The break down at :34 might stop the momentum for this type of listing (even though artistically it's awesome.)
For what it's worth, I had 2 tracks forwarded to the following listing that seems to be the same company although they do not mention "instrumental beds".
"Tough" and "Black Leather Jacket" on my Taxi page
ROCK INSTRUMENTALS are need by a Production Music Library that pitches to over 700+ Radio and TV affiliates all over the world. They want Mid-To-Up Tempo Instrumental Tracks that could be heard on the same playlist as Dead Weather, Band of Skulls, Jack White, etc. Your Tracks need to be fresh with lots of attitude that will make you want to rock out! Give them Instrumentals that have a cool, unique swagger. Broadcast Quality is needed (excellent sounding home recordings are fine). The quality MUST BE amazing, comparable to things that are being released from Labels. Please do NOT copy or rip off the referenced artists in any way, shape, or form. Use them only as a general guide for tempo, texture, and tone. Do not submit any material with unauthorized samples of other artists’ music, sounds, or any other form of media. This Company offers a $2,500 FLAT FEE BUY-OUT per Track. They’ll own 100% of the Master and Copyright. All Tracks must have BUTTONED ENDINGS - no fade-outs, and be 60 seconds long (including any reverb tail or ring outs). You must own or control 100% of your Master and Composition to pitch for this opportunity. All Instrumentals will be screened on a Yes/No basis. No full critiques. Please submit one to three Instrumental Tracks online or per CD no later than 5PM on Thursday, May 29th, 2014. TAXI #D140529RI

Re: What's An Instrumental Bed? Does this work?
Thanks, Michael. That was exactly the kind of feedback I was looking for. I never intended to leave the track over 60 seconds, and yeah, I was worried that the breakdown would not work for the purpose of this listing. Sounds like they just want 60 seconds of a fairly consistent groove. Nice tracks and congrats on the forwards.

Re: What's An Instrumental Bed? Does this work?
I revised Confetti and converted a couple collaborations with Cass into 60 second versions for the listing. Do any of these work? Are the stops and verse/chorus forms no-nos for this listing?

Yes, I know Confetti is a weak mix compared to the two that Cass mixed
Let me know if you have any suggestions!
