Quote:Is that your strat in the picture, Ern?Nope, but mine looks like that except I bought it with the finish stripped off. It's still that way --- I never painted it! I re-fretted it and put a 5-way switch in it, but other than that it's stock. Nice axe, but I miss my stolen '65 Strat!Ern

The Hosa box doesn't allow for routing to multiple sources simultaneously, though, which appears to be on Ern's wish list. How about this:http://www.sweetwater.com/store/detail/LS3/I wouldn't buy it from Sweetwater, but Coleman Audio is a very respected name in the industry so I'm sure this is a good box.Andre

Simple for you isn't necessarily simple for me, right Andre?...but you always seem to get the job done Nomi! I'm sure one of your studio buddies could wire something up quickly if you don't have much experience with a soldering gun. Or, you could pick up some cables that already have the proper ends on them.Andre

Quote:Quote:Actually the Hosa box can be used either direction. Looks like it's spoken for.MazzIt's not a directional issue; the Hosa box won't allow you to select among multiple destinations from a single source. Not trying to devalue your input, though Mazz...you're always very helpful on these boards (and in real life).AndreAndre,I didn't take it personally at all. Hope all is well with you. I see what you mean now about the box. Among multiple destinations doesn't mean multiple destinations at the same time...DOH! Also I didn't pick up that it was speaker level that was needed. That's a different animal all together!I'm a bit brain dead on the weekends here at my day gig.......... Mazz

Quote:I see what you mean now about the box. Among multiple destinations doesn't mean multiple destinations at the same time...DOH!Actually, that's exactly what it means! It's just that you need to be able to decide for yourself which destination(s) the source is sent to (eg - mains, nearfields, nearfields + sub). At least that's how I'm interpreting Ern's "A/B/A&B" comment.Quote:I'm a bit brain dead on the weekends here at my day gig.......... MazzObviously! But surely no more than the rest of us. Andre

Okay, I'll go. This is the main part of my rig:Main computer: Mac 2x2.5 G5; 8GB of RAM that I access ; every single piece of music software known to man and all the major sample libraries (because I run Virtual Instruments Magazine); audio interfaces: MBox 2 (used as a dongle for the PT LE software), MOTU PCI-424 card with 2408s for digital input, recently an Apogee Ensemble because it sounds great.Three slave computers: a 2x2.0 G5 with a MOTU card in it; a VisionDAW PC (2.8GHz P4) - aging but really solid; and a 2.4GHz P4 with Giga on it that I'm thinking of replacing with a Mac Mini after the next update. The PCs have Frontier Designs Wavecenter PCI cards - cheapo lightpipe I/O. I also have a broken 3.4GHz P4 that I really should fix.Kurzweil K2500X (controller), Yamaha VL1, Akai EWIs (anyone want to buy a 3020/m? I have an extra.). DrumKAT with Fat and HatKAT pedals that I'd like to replace with something more responsive - possibly the $200 Alesis pads, except they don't have a hi-hat mode.Outboard: Waves L2 used as A/D converter. Two Millennia channel strips (I sold everything to buy them).Blue Sky System 1 monitors. I just bought a pair of UREI 809As on Ebay as a second ref - they're being reconed, and I'm going to power them with a big honking Hafler amp.Oktava MK019 (I think - the cardioid ones); Røde Classic 2 mic; sundry other mics.Aeron chair that my ass is in love with. Too much stuff I don't use anymore. These are old pictures (I now have a 30" monitor instead of the two 17" ones), but it shows the bulk of my rig showing the sliding desktop. When it's pulled back I have a full 2x3 tabletop. If you click on Trap Door at the upper right, you can see my "machine room" - computers on a shelf in the garage, where they make NO NOISE.http://homepage.mac.com/virtualinstrume ... m9.htmlNot shown: several shelves full of music software waiting to be reviewed.
