CK

I LOVE this Track !!!!!!!!!

Per the bass... my initial reaction was opposite of some of the other comments here.... I thought the bass "level" was fine but wanted to trim off about 6% of the "boom" ....

But..........

I don't listen to this style much so I went and checked out 10 Peter Tosh tunes and your bass frequencies were pretty much in line with 5 of his songs --- the other 5 he had a little less "boom" and a bit more "growl" ------

So my uneducated (at least in this style) opinion is that you are somewhere in the vicinity of what is acceptable for a Tosh type thing...

Again, very cool track :-)

Hey CK,
Really nice track. The arrangement and the mix are good. Like those above, my only minor point is the synth pads; they sound a little too spacey on an earthly track. I would simply suggest a different sound.

Nice job, I hope it gets picked up.

Best,
Stephen

I'm not technical enough to comment on the production but from a listening stand point it's a real nice piece. Keep smoking what ever it is you're smoking. It's nice to see Mr. Spliff getting the recognition he deserves. Maybe the title should be "Lite This Spliff Mon" I think it captures the essence.

I'm confused -- #2 says set it back more, and #3 says it's set too far back. Am I not understanding something?
When you say, "in the pocket," do you mean rhythmically (that's how I think of the pocket) or in the mix?[/quote]

Sorry CK - when listening through real speakers or good headphones, the bass does not sound like its back far enough.
When listening through my computer speakers , its too quiet in the mix.

Yes, that sounds confused, but it is what I mean to say. When this happens to me , its usually an eq issue.

In the pocket for me is in the mix.

hey CK,

Not really a style I listen to much but after A/B'ing the two, it sounds like you're there. After one listen, I think I agree with Dean's initial comments. I thought the level of the bass was fine, but I think I'd like to hear a tad more growl, and just a hair less boom. But again, I'm not as familiar with this genre. I do love the track though!
