I think it only matters if you're responding to listings that are looking for artists/bands. If you're writing cues or even songs, I don't think the screeners care all that much about your life story... (I don't know - just guessing.)

I thought the most important thing to include with the song is not the bio but the metadata:

1. Name(s) of artist(s)
2. Names(s) of composers
3. Name(s) of performers
4. Song Title
5. Album title (if any)
6. Label
7. Publisher
8. Year Released
9. Track Number
10. Genre
11. Producer
12. Contact (yours/management)
13. Performing Rights Society Affiliation (ASCAP, BMI, etc.)
14. Mood
15. BPM

Good luck!

One caveat: I haven't had any library placements, but I've heard that different libraries have their own peculiarities (I can't remember who posted it...maybe Russel Landwehr?), so that template might have some variation, but it's what I use as a default.

Cheers!

I wonder how you got so good. This is really a fascinating forum, lots of stuff that I can get into. One thing I just want to say is that your discussion is so perfect!
