When a return is exactly what you needed

Post by OstinDrais » Thu Oct 17, 2013 4:38 pm

This afternoon I got a return on the track I submitted for a quick turnaround listing, calling for movie montage music (U131015EI ... sadly I don't have the text saved anywhere).

I could not be more pleased to have the return. Why?

Because it validates my own thoughts.

In the throes of composing/editing/mixing, I didn't have a good perspective on things. I was too busy just throwing more spaghetti onto the wall, hoping it would stick. And with a deadline looming, I chose to ignore a nagging feeling that I was missing something. When I listened to it the next day, I realized that my nagging feeling was right. It's Not Quite There. The track has potential, but it just needs to be... more.

So what did listener #381 say? I'll quote one line: "It's actually not that far off, Ostrin [sic], we just needed to kick it up a notch or two."

This means that I get it. I should trust my instincts.

I feel powerful now.

clicking on the listing number in your submission history page of your member account will bring up the listing in a new window so you can copy paste.
