where to look for loops to enhance pop/rock tunes?

Hello,Looking for some cool loops that can be purchased for verses, accents, anything for pop/rock songs. Not looking for hip hop or techno...Anybody have any suggestions?

The best bang for the buck is Spectrasonics Stylus RMX, but there are tons of options out there. If you're running a Mac, Garageband (that comes stock on the Mac) has a bunch of loops included. But, I think I read somewhere you aren't really a computer guy... so I'm guessing you're thinking audio loops?

I apologize for making myself unclear...drum loops. and I actually am a computer guy, so I am not afraid to get down and dirty. I have heard of RMX. I was trying to avoid a big software plugin, but I do know that sucker is pretty powerful.(Mazz: I am a huge monster fan...sorry...hope that pic doesn't keep you from sleeping at night!)thanks Marty, I will take a look at past threads.

After looking at RMX, I am going to go for it....might as well get the Expanded pack, while I am at it...seems like a great deal.Looking long term...RMX will definitely help me with future stuff, also.

There's way scarier things that keep me awake at night!!RMX is great for a lot of things, particularly enhancers like you're looking for and also for idea stimulation. The effects and editing are great too. The expanders really open it up as well.For straight ahead drum stuff, EZ drummer is worth a close look. It sounds great, has some very good expansion packs, uses MIDI loops which give a lot of tempo flexibility, and it's relatively inexpensive.Have fun!!Mazz

Mazz beat me to it...EZ Drummer has a ton of MIDI loops built in and I think now you an also import others into the library. The sound is great too, it's got some humanizing capability to it and your DAW should let you edit from there if you want even more feel. The basic version is all around pop/rock too. I'm sure the other drum plugs have similar capability as well (DrumCore, etc.). Another option, if your DAW will handle them (most should) there's a ton of free REX loops out there on the web (basically WAV files with beat metadata) and cheap commercial collections as well.One other option I'll throw out since I've never seen it mentioned on this forum is Sonoma Wire Works "RiffWorks" software. It's focused on guitarists and a much different paradigm than a normal DAW. It's coolest feature to me is the "Instant Drummer" which gives a lot of nice options on drums without having to do any programming. Yes, I do use EZDRummer also...phenemonal piece of software.Looking forward to their new Superior 2.0
