I'm gonna say something here that is meant in a good way, not a critical way.Your song has a great tune to it and yes the voice is a bit back from where it might could be so that your voice, which is really unique, could be heard. Now i'm not going to tell you to sing like anyone else, but if you listen to Misty's songs, even being in the more sexy strain by default, because she's not selling sex, but the gal can't help it, it's just there in her songs, you'd see how your own voice would really pop out there for people to hear. I'm just saying.I'd betcha that on stage your voice is much more up front for the audience, back rowers as well. Giver a try and be happy, really be happy. You don't know me so that in its self is a bonus for ya!Be good, enjoy life, this could be your last day, and one day, it will be. Remember This.Doc

Hi JanineI have no idea whether or not you should rejoin TAXI. I think that's a personal decision based on all sorts of personal things, including your budget! I do think your song is beautifully written and sung, and you have a distinctive sound. I think I would recognize a song by you.I also wanted to comment on the tone of the earlier responses you received. I think that there are a lot of "dots" out there who know one aother well and are quite comfortable with over-the-top confrontational banter. I think it would be helpful if these "dots" would restrain themselves from posting in that male-locker room style when they don't know the person to whom they are replying. I, for one, find it off-putting and intimidating. In person, I don't think it would bother me at all; I'd probably like it! But in a post from some guy you have never seen, spoken with or met, it's uncomfortable and unnecessary. Anyway, I digress! Good luck to you whatever you decide. You obviously will find a way with or without TAXI.EllenPS I hope I didn't make any flagrant grammatical errors!

Just as a reminder or whatever to check out the posting dates for some of these threads. Sometimes there's replies to threads that are months or years old and the people have since moved on. The last post Janine made was Oct 15th. Hopefully she'll be back. Her last post was really nice... Quote:I really, really appreciate all of you guys taking the time to offer up all of these suggestions, especially about the production. I completely agree that production is not my strong point. To be honest, Salt Water is the first thing I personally have EVER attempted to produce in my life, so I'm more than willing to accept that fact that it sure ain't perfect, and I really do want to learn how to improve in that area, so any suggestions anyone may have are very welcome.I also really appreciate all the positive comments about the songs, and my voice. As a singer/songwriter those are the two types of compliments I live for I know a couple of you guys said you might be willing to work with me on the production end of things... honestly, if you were serious, send me a message! I do need some help to improve in that area! You guys are really cool though...you all take the time to help out, which is amazing. Despite the rocky start, I'm glad I popped into this forum to check things out.

I made the mistake of joining taxi before I was good enough to submit songs. I thought you had to be a taxi member to access the forum. I have not used any of its resources.Should have stayed on the forums until I gained enough information to successfully write and produce a song. Oh well. No big deal. Only money and I have enough of that.paul
