Good one Mazz. Take Frank out of the Nelson Riddle Orchestra and you have some great stuff.

Thanks mazz, casey, eric b, bruce, all good points and interesting and useful perspective.

Now the particular listing is expired but your comments have general validity.
But to a new new guy like me the description was not clear and is still not clear to me.

The listing does not specify that the track was going to be used with voice-over. In fact the listing description still indicates to me that the submitted track is not going to be used at all. They just want to locate producers that can turn out tracks fast if/when there is a need for it in the future.

I don't know which ' Hollywood Film/TV Publisher with a solid track record' is involved nor what is their business nor profile. For what I know it could have been the boss that wanted a band to play at his daughters wedding. :-) Not likely, but not excludable.

But there certainly are many different ways of using music in films. That could have been given in the listing. If the listing is just a test, then that could have been done. And the evaluation process at the same time could be a test of intercommunication. That is desirable both by the publisher and the producer. They need to know that they can work together fast. Then I think the listing could have included a specific task, either an imaginary task of the future or just specify a previous situation. Or may be that kind of test was already included here, and the guy this publisher wants to work with understands exactly what s/he want from the listing. So, I'm definitely not the right person as I did not understand the situation I should make the music for.
