Comments appreciated. Thanks!
Please refer to the latest rendition up at the top. (Better Drums)
DRAMATIC ORCHESTRAL-Based INSTRUMENTAL CUES are needed by a very successful Music Licensing Company with worldwide distribution in over 50 countries that lands hundreds of placements a year – many of them on Major Networks!
This Company is on the hunt for Instrumental Cues in the general stylistic ballpark of the following references:
American Ninja Warrior (from :00 to :37)
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=v4IjimMgXVo
Kitchen Nightmares (from 17:48 - 18:26)
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=EqABGCENAkE&t=1068s
Survivor (from 6:20 to 6:56)
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=GukEM4NnqSE&t=380s
Please submit top-tier Orchestral-Based Instrumental Cues that could add dramatic intensity and energy to Reality TV competition shows. Your instrumentation should be Orchestral focused, and some sound design or hybrid elements are okay to include, as well. However, this Library asks to avoid any instrumentation that could give the Cues a tribal feel. Craft your Cues around a singular motif, and create a sense of forward momentum and dynamics by layering instrumentation in and out as they progress. This Library is open to hearing pieces that are tension-based as well as more epic Cues – check out the references to hear what we mean. Please be sure that your production and any virtual instrumentation you use are high-quality and fresh – nothing stiff, synthetic, or MIDI sounding will work for this request. If you have pieces that would work well in the context of dramatic scenes in competition reality TV shows, this company wants to hear them!
Your submissions should be about 90 seconds to 2 minutes long, give or take. Non-faded, buttoned/stinger endings will work best. Do NOT copy the referenced material in any way, shape, or form. Use it only as a general guide for tempo, tone, and overall vibe. Broadcast Quality is needed.
This Company offers an EXCLUSIVE deal, so the material you submit for this request CANNOT be signed with other publishers or catalogs. Sync fees will be split 50/50. The Publisher will get 100% of the Publisher’s share, and you’ll keep 100% of the Writer’s share. You must own or control your Master and Copyright to pitch for this opportunity. Please submit as many Instrumental Cues as you’d like, online or per CD. All submissions will be screened and critiqued by TAXI. Submissions must be received no later than 11:59 PM (PDT) on Thursday, March 17th, 2022. TAXI # S220317CD

Good news. I found your comments in an earlier post of the same music.johndalenow wrote: ↑Mon Mar 07, 2022 12:05 pmI'm disappointed that somehow it was deleted. Do you care to "capsulize" your response? Thanks in advance.

glad to hear it!
and I'll paste it here in case the other disappears:
Hi John!
I'm asking for feedback for the same listing, so thought I should offer some feedback to get that karma going, haha.
Keep in mind I am a new Taxi member with ZERO forwards (0 for 12 but still trucking on).
I think your song definitely has the drama they are going for. The build up to the stinger at the end is great.
It could be my listening environment, but there is some muddiness in the mix. Maybe too much reverb on something?
There's a section around 0:30 - 0:48 with strings that sound a bit off. I don't know what it is, maybe too much off the beat? It kind of throws me off because it's different from the rest of the song, but not in a way that makes me more interested in the melody - I hope that makes sense.
Also, some common feedback I've gotten is that my melodies are too repetitive - I'm wondering if they'd same the same about yours for this track.
Best of luck with this one, I think it's almost there.
I would appreciate your feedback in return if you have time!

I've identified exactly what was causing the "mud" and corrected it. Thanks for bringing it to my attention. Who knows, it might make all the diff! Best! John. (It also go me to thinking about the "wisdom" in being very sparing with reverb in low-frequency instruments, especially when playing simultaneously with other instruments.). Thanks again, my friend!MJTthePHD wrote: ↑Mon Mar 07, 2022 2:50 pmglad to hear it!

Re: "You Will Lose" Dramatic, Orchestra-based Cue
Hey man, I can hear some cool ideas in your track, It has emotion and excitement. ) >0:15 I love the transition.
Some suggestions:
- Try using a convolution reverb, or try to eq your actual reverb something sounds weird and muddy.
- Pay attention to your balance and gain staging
- Piano needs more dynamics. You could try using velocity / Reverb Automation / Delay Automation to add more energy.
- Frequencies are clashing or competing with each other ( Try with a Dynamic EQ to make some room, but probably just an M/S EQ could fix it easily )
- Your percussions need more character
- 1:07 synth from my point of view is too distracting and is competing with your strings especially here (1:30), sounds like it's from a different track. Probably you could add more ear candy stuff to your track eg: '' Pedal Point" o" Stabs at the beginning of a phrase" ...
I hope all of this makes sense.
I think you have a great idea already, you just need to invest more time working on this track.
Cheers!
