I personally like Willie --- I'm not a country music guy, but he seems so REAL to me (the opposite of Shania). A white soul brother. Similar to The Band --- no phoniness there either. And if you've never seen Springsteen live, do yourself a favor and go to a concert. He touches about every human emotion imaginable. Sure, he's a great screamer, but he's WAY more than that as a vocalist and an artist. Last time I saw the Boss, he blew his voice out at the end of the first Two Hour set, but after a break, came out with a clear voice and sang for 2+ hours more! Incredible.I really like ALL music that is real and not corporately contrived. Well, except for some rap --- Ern

I'm sure I'm against it...unless it makes lots of money, and then I might be for it. lol

I like Willie himself. His singing just reminds me of a goats bleet(sp?). Fergie is a female rapper who doesn't have a hint of talent. Saw her on New Yrs Eve on ABC. She's all about sex and calls herself "Fergie-licious"
I shall wipe every tear from their eyes....

The thing I like most about Willie is he's for real.... who else at age 70 something is still carrying around two pounds of weed in their bus... He reminds me that somewhere in the process of becoming adults my generation got way too serious ...up tight ... and pro military industrial establishment oriented... including W... and I'm as red as you get....I always wondered if Condi and the diplimats got together with their middle east counter parts and had a few joints before they talk things over.... probably wouldn't find it so hard to like each other and get along... .... JMHO... ArkJack

Not sure. Condi and the Diplomats had a pretty edgy message in their debut CD. But you are probaby right that a littel spliff would mellow it out some.

Okay, you can stone me for this....I kind of like that song "Fergalicious!" (sp) As far as Ton Loc...although he was a one-hit wonder, he did use his small fortune to buy his mother a house and take care of his family. And comon' who didn't like a little Funky Cold Medina every now and then! I was surprised to see I wasn't the only one who didn't care for the Boss! As far as Willie goes, I know there's a story and all that...but it doesn't work for me. Can't do Dylan either! (Throw more stones here...)Ah yes, Seasons In The Sun. I thought about adding that to my list. However, I must admit I bought that record and played it over and over. They don't write cheer-me-up songs like that anymore!Blessings,Craig

ok... this is a little different:1. Bob Dylan - His melodies were atrocious (I do like his lyrics though)2. Led Zep. - This guy made a carrer out of going off key3. Bruce Springsteen - Hate his voice, hate his songs4. Maddona - Sorry, I just don't like her5. Marilyn Manson - What a loser!

I like Willie and think he is a great songwriter. I can't stand his singing. My criterion for being a great songwriter is simple--you need at least seven great songs. If you have one great song you are a good songwriter. If you have three you are excellent. Five and you are on the bottom tier of greatness. Seven and you are one of the best on earth. Oh well, it sounded better when I was thinking of it.Hmmm...it takes a certain number of great songs to be a great songwriter. Five to seven sounds like enough to make you great.

Quote:Don't like ABBA? Read what Pete Townsend says:"Is it true that you are a big fan of ABBA (I am too!). What do you like so much about them?""I am a fan of Benny. He is a genius. His music work in Abba was what I really found enchanting. I like his solo work too, and his work on Swedish traditional music (where he plays accordion). SOS is my favourite pop song of all time. It raises my heart like a Bach prelude in E."Well, it boils down to diff strokes for diff folks, really...RAABBA? Well Shaka, I gotta tell ya...They get my number one vote as the most nauseating band of all time! Hearing them actually makes me hate all music! I've actually left a room where their music was being piped in, and passed on the chance to see the Broadway musical featuring their music. Not sure what it is, but I absolutely despise them. Again, this is just my opinion. I should say I'm pretty tolerant of most genres and artists, even the ones on my "dislike" list. But ABBA....ARRGGHHHH!Blessings,Craig
