YOUR FAVORITE CHRISTMAS SONG??
ok, the humanist/atheist LOVE'S christmas music, love's the holiday, in spite of many sad memories around it...SO I ASK TO START A THREAD THAT I'M POSITIVE HAS BEEN DONE BEFORE....WHAT IS YOUR FAV CHRISTMAS SONG/TUNE/MUSIC?MINE IS--1) "O HOLY NIGHT"--don't know why, very complicated tune, very subtle lift in the chorus, but a great piece of christmas music...2) and speaking of john lennon, his tune, don't even know the formal name of it, never pay much attention to names, but i'll just call it "And So This Is Christmas." but no, just looked it up and of course "Happy Christmas (War Is Over)" always brings a tear to my eye...ok, anybody have a fav? my mom's was Silent Night, always kinda made her cry, but heck, she did allot of that...all the best,HAPPY WHATEVER HOLIDAY OR FEELING YOU HAVE THIS TIME OF YEAR!!!!warren

I'm in tears now after watching it again!I don't know who made the video, but if John had done one himself, I reckon it would have been just like this.Sorry if it upsets anyone, but we can't go on closing our eyes, especially at this time of year.

I do like most of the traditional Christmas carols/songs, but this one is special for me; all the more poignant as John died so close to Christmas! My apologies for another John Lennon post.

Re: YOUR FAVORITE CHRISTMAS SONG??
My two favourite Christmas songs would be 'White Christmas' and 'Rudolf, the Red nosed Reindeer' because they are the two Christmas songs that made the most money, not just as Christmas songs, but on the top ten money making songs of all time. My favourite Christmas album would be the Christmas album by Boney M. I don't know how much money they made out of it but I liked the album with it's reggae sound.

Re: YOUR FAVORITE CHRISTMAS SONG??
Without a doubt, the entire Vince Guaraldi Trio "Charlie Brown Christmas" CD....I was at that perfect impressionable age when watching the show every Xmas, and the music just clicks for me.Not very scientific, I know, but the strongest emotions seldom are. Now that I have kids, "Frosty", "Rudolf the Red Nosed Reindeer", and "Jingle Bells" are in very high demand. If I could only have one standard song though for all eternity, it would be "Silent Night". Any version with a good choir will do!
Earplugs may be required for anyone over the age of cool.

It's just an absolutely gorgeous melody, and for me personally, the song has lots of meaning. If I could pick another one, well, it may surprise those of you who only think of me as a headbanger, but it would have to Mariah Carey's "All I Want For Christmas Is You" song. It always makes me happy - Big Blue
Imagine a steel cage match between Daughtry, Coldplay, Paramore and Demon Hunter with Joe Satriani as the referee...

I have two awesome recommendations. First, go Youtube and type in "12 days no chaser" and you will hear a fabulous Men's acapella group. They just got signed by Altlantic. And for those of you who love 80's hair metal, you should get yourself a copy of The Screaming Santa's CD called Going Insane At Christmas. If you can't find it online and need help, PM me.Robbylane
