Your favourite email music newsletter

Post by frodo » Thu Jun 19, 2008 11:13 am

Hi all!The title says it all! However, since I've heard you can't just have the title without repeating it somewhere in the song, like in the chourus, I'll repeat most of it here.Tell me all about itTell it to me now:What's your favourite newsletter?I really gotta knowNext time I'll rhyme 'fire' with 'desire'. - until next timefrodo

Well, newsletters might be a thing from the past, I'm beginning to understand.... - or, it might have been something wrong with the phrasing of my question, - like, not blending an ordinary question with humour... So, if you don't do the newsletter thing - why not rate my question?Phrasing (1-10)Current-ness (1-10)Humour (1-10)??---Ops, I did it again!! - until next timefrodo

Personally, I like Scott R. Garrigus' DigiFreq email newsletter at http://www.digifreq.com/digifreq/, but although it says monthly sometimes it seems more like semi-annually!! It does have some good technical recording type info though...Chuck

Actually I do like the newsletters from Taxi, especially when they give us tips and so on. I also like newsletters from "Musikbörsen" here in Sweden.

I love reading emails from a Brit named Andrew Dubber. The guy's extremely informative, and right on the pulse of changing business of music. Have a look thru his archives. I get new emails once or twice a week. And he really wants everyone to share the info. His site got hijacked yesterday, and within 24 hours, he had a new site up and running. That's a very dedicated and effective marketer. http://newmusicmanagement.com/

And I check out www.sivers.org for Derek Sivers latest blog adventures and thoughts - he's the guy who started CDBaby, and I'm guessing at what his next music business idea will be - it seems like it will be some form of musicians helping other musicians, a sort of mentoring but maybe more than that...--Mer

I already have a favorite line from Andrew Dubber:Quote:The fact that you make music is unremarkable.
