Cheers for the return, Nothing wrong with the songs as you said they just are more of the Pop/rock than the edgy rock'n'roll of Lou Reed and Paul Westerberg.
She Blew Me Away - ''i like this. a real good, buoyant Pop song, with an engaging melody & a sweet lyric. performance is also engaging. i don't feel that this is exactly right for this listing, though. it isn't quite the literate (as in literary) rock'n'roll the listing is looking for. to me, this is a strong song, though, that might fit better in a Pop or Alt. Pop listing''
Arrabella ''again, a real good song that i think might be a better fit with a Pop listing. a strong melody that is engagingly structured. also, another cool lyric that is both a strength as well as why this is not a good fit here. it has a sweetness & bounce that is not quite the angst-y vibe they are seeking. strong performance. ''
Busy With My Own Dreams ''three for three. another really cool tune, with an imaginative arrangement, a solid melody, and a fun lyric. performance is really impressive, as it seems halfway between singing and acting. but, this here is a Pop song, my friend. ''
Style Not close enough for what the listing asked for. more of a Pop, or Alt. Pop style than the edgy rock'n'roll of PAUL WESTERBERG & LOU REED
Overall Comments
hey stephen - this is an excellent submission. i thoroughly enjoyed all three songs. the melodies are excellent, and the overall feel is just completely engaging, in the way that good Pop music is. it has a strong emotional resonance, catchy melodies, cool story lines that will have the listener rooting for the protagonist (you) in the songs. i do think this is a better fit for a Pop listing of some kind, but i also think it might work for Indie Folk listings, which now usually reference MUMFORD & SONS. i feel like there is some kinship between your Pop style & their Folkish Pop. best of luck to you and thanx for the submission
Bio Comments Bio Is fine as it is
Reason for return i am returning this because stylistically, its not quite right for this listing,

Congratulations Stephen....
Your music made an impact. And an impression with one who counts (in the scheme of things)!!
It was a success in my estimation and now you know exactly where those songs belong...
Continued success. -- Andy

Re: 3/3 return from Screener 256
Cheers Andy, yeah I'm having a look at some listings now and I'm thinkin of heading down the John Mayer comtemporary Pop/rock area as well as delving into the fleet fox/Mumford and sons indie folk listings.
I've already had a forward to a midwestern indie label in the last few weeks by the co-owner of the listing company but it looks like I've missed the mark on this one. At least now I know what route to head down but any money says I'll probably end up getting it wrong again
